What is Geography?

-         Geography is a science… A social science because it explains how people live in our planet and the relationships that people have with the environment.

Where does the name (Geography) come from?

-          It comes from the Greek language and it means: Geo (Earth) and graphy (description); so it literally means: Description of the Earth.

What is this science (Geography) about?

-          It studies the relationship between the human race and the environment in two fields: Physical and Human and Economic. This year we are going to learn about the first field (Physical Geography) that describes our planet and the relationship between the human race and the planet in order to get what is necessary for us to survive and live in this beautiful world.

So, from now on, you only need two important things…

1-    Do not be afraid to discover many interesting and marvellous things about our planet

2-   Do not be afraid to express everything you want to know in English language.
